I’m Jessica — the founder of Jess & Sugar, a handcrafted cake studio based in Gatineau, Canada.
I’m also a mother of three boys, and a cake artist with over 10 years of experience turning life’s sweetest moments into edible works of art.
At Jess & Sugar, we believe that sweetness is more than just a flavor — it’s a way of expressing love, sharing beauty, and celebrating meaningful moments. Every cake is made fresh to order with natural cream& butter, fresh seasonal fruits, and handcrafted detail.

My Story
For over a decade, my journey has been shaped by sugar, art, and imagination.
What began as curiosity grew into a deep passion through years of hands-on creation, artistic exploration, and cultural discovery. I’ve traveled across many countries, learning both traditional and modern dessert techniques — studying fondant craftsmanship and witnessing how different cultures celebrate joy through sweets.
I fell in love with the sculptural beauty of fondant and the natural elegance of fresh florals on cakes. I became devoted to the details — the curve of a sugar petal, the balance of cream and fruit, the moment a design comes alive.
With that passion came a commitment to quality. At Jess & Sugar, every fondant element is handmade from pure sugar — no additives, no shortcuts — carefully kneaded and sculpted to preserve both beauty and integrity.
